Hemant Mundra, who was a principal at the private equity firm Warburg Pincus, has been appointed as managing director in 2025. Mundra is also on the board of Parksons Packaging.
Mundra has worked for over a decade in private equity, across sectors like financial services, healthcare, consumer and auto components. Mundra's focus is financial services. Besides Parksons, Mundra is on the board of companies including Avanse Financial Services, Vistaar Finance and Shriram Housing Finance.
Mundra obtained a BTech in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, and went on to qualify as a certified financial analyst. Rothschild & Co hired him as an analyst between April 2011 and May 2012. Following this, he got an MBA in finance from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad between 2012-2014.
Mundra had joined Kedaara Capital in March 2014 and was a senior associate with the firm. He joined Warburg Pincus as vice-president in November 2017.
Parksons PE journey began in May 2021, when Parksons Packaging underwent a transformation following a majority stake acquisition by US-based private equity firm Warburg Pincus. Since then, the company has been on a roll in the mono-carton space, asserting its dominance with gusto.
In 2024, Parksons Packaging reached a turnover of approximately Rs 2,000 crores. Kejriwal attributes this performance to key investments in roll-fed flexo technology and capacity enhancements in the rigid box vertical. Additionally, the company expanded its footprint globally with the establishment of a greenfield plant in Tanzania.
