Two-day paper conference to focus on green manufacturing
Indian Pulp & Paper Technical Association (IPPTA) will host its 58th AGM and seminar on 17 to 18 March. The seminar which will focus on green manufacturing will transpire at Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre.

The IPPTA seminar will be held at Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre on 17 and 18 March. With the theme: Preparing the paper industry towards green manufacturing, the seminar focuses on green manufacturing and how to keep pace with time and turning the industry to be fully environment-friendly. The seminar attempts to adopt practices in-line with the COP26 (United Nations Change Conference of the Parties).
Several industry experts from mills and suppliers have been invited to share their opinions with the delegates. Sudhanshu Mani, ex general manager, Integral Coach Factory, Chennai and inventor of Vande Bharat Express train has been invited as a guest speaker to boost the spirits of the paper industry. Over 350 delegates from India and abroad from pulp, paper and allied industries are expected to attend the seminar.
Case studies will be presented by mills and technology suppliers to share knowledge on green manufacturing operations. A panel discussion will be held to discuss the growth of the paper industry in the upcoming years.
As per an IPPTA spokesperson, “Currently, the focus of the industry is to reduce various sources of polluting factors and save mother nature for next generation.” Industry needs to ensure that all the waste should be reduced and the methodology of green manufacturing should be applied.
With a sustainable manufacturing process, paper is a material that caters to the needs of a future circular economy. The IPPTA spokesperson said, “Hence, the IPPTA has decided to hold a seminar to share knowledge on this topic of green manufacturing that could benefit the industry in terms of adopting new technologies, improving existing operations and investigating the value of specific technology.”
