Sanko, Motherson sign joint venture

Ushering a new era in packaging, material handling solutions provider Sanko has entered into a joint venture with auto components major Motherson to provide sustainable packaging solutions in India and Europe. In a statement, Motherson stated that it aims to develop reusable and sustainable packaging solutions—a step towards decarbonisation and becoming a globally preferred sustainable solutions provider.
Commenting on the announcement, Vivek Chaand Sehgal, chairman, Motherson, said, "We believe that reimagining packaging as an engineered solution rather than a simple commodity can bring immense logistics, cost, and value efficiencies to supply chains. More importantly, we see this collaboration as another way to support our customers in achieving their sustainability goals."
According to the press release, the joint venture aims to provide sustainable solutions to automotive and non-automotive industries, enhancing efficiencies in material handling and reducing overall logistics costs.
Expressing his delight at the partnership, Toshihiko Goto, president, Sanko, said, "We believe we can contribute more to Motherson and our valuable customers by combining Motherson's strong global presence with our long experience and rich expertise in the sustainable packaging solutions business."
