The Kongsberg Ultimate has been designed for corrugated production. It has been engineered specifically for the corrugated and display production industry and aims to deliver on converters’ need for precision.

Rafiq Shaikh, Sales and Service Leader at Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems, explains its uses.“The Ultimate achieves performance in terms of production, precision, safety, uptime, user-friendliness and sustainability. With its new infinite linear, high torque motor drive, the Kongsberg Ultimate offers acceleration up to 2.7 G and top cutting speeds up to 167.5 m/min. Combined with a custom carbon fibre beam design, it provides a consistent 50kg downforce during expansive cuts,” he says.

The Kongsberg Ultimate’s modular design empowers businesses to invest based on their current requirements and scale up as their demands evolve. The Ultimate can be run semi-automated with a Feeder & Stacker, or completely automated with the Robotic Material Handler.

The Kongsberg Ultimate was launched on 30 November 2023 at a customer experience centre in Gent, Belgium. Kongsberg also held a similar event at its North American headquarters earlier this year and then showcased the product at Drupa in May.

“In terms of applications, the Kongsberg Ultimate specifically addresses the unique challenges faced by corrugated converters involved in continuous high volume multi-batch production, be that packaging or display,” says Shaikh.

The Ultimate caters towards the Indian market where profits hinge on productivity and a high ROI. The Kongsberg Ultimate delivers an excellent ROI but enhances efficiency and overall competitive advantage.

Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems emerged in 2021 as a standalone business after being part of the Kongsberg Group in Norway since 1965.

The company offers digital cutting solutions to worldwide packaging, signage, display and manufacturing markets, enabling businesses to produce faster, safer, and more efficiently without limiting imagination.
