Plexconnect 2024, an export-focused international plastics exhibition, concluded with resounding success.

The exhibition generated business enquiries valued at over USD 57.5-million, nearly tripling last year’s number. On-spot deals worth approximately USD 5.1-million finalised and the international buyers attending the exhibition expressed keen interest in continuing their business with India.

Over 400 international buyers from more than 50 countries participated in the reverse buyer-seller meet (RBSM) organised during the event to facilitate engagement between the international buyers and exporters. State pavilions from Andhra Pradesh and Odisha participated with over 20 exhibitors to boost their export outreach.

“Plexconnect 2024 marks a pivotal step towards the success of our nation's plastics exporters, most of whom are MSMEs,” said Hemant Minocha, chairman of Plexconcil. “Over 60 exhibitors participated under the MSME Ministry schemes and we are indeed happy with the growing recognition for the exhibition among the stakeholders. We have also had meetings with delegations from Russia, Cameroon, Uzbekistan and Brazil, all expressing interest in strengthening bilateral trade in plastics with India,” he added.

Dhruv Sayani, convener, Plexconnect 2024 remarked, “The exhibition continues to effectively bridge the gap between Indian exporters and international buyers, generating significant enthusiasm within the industry. Among the response from international buyers, we were pleased to welcome large format chain stores such as Walmart to Plexconnect 2024. This further consolidates the exhibition as the ideal sourcing hub for plastics.”

Sribash Dasmohapatra, executive director, Plexconcil, said, “Over 3,200 b2b meetings took place during the RBSM, with both buyers and exporters expressing satisfaction with their discussions.”

The Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), a national institution under the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilisers, Government of India, also participated in Plexconnect 2024.

More than ten major trade associations participated in Plexconnect 2024, which was attended by over 15,000 trade visitors. Notable companies from the exhibitors' list included The Supreme Industries, All Time Plastics, Garware Hi-tech Films, Sudhakar PVC Products, Rajiv Plastics, AVI Global Plast, Big Bags International, The Shakti Plastic Industries, Total Packaging, Dalmia Polypro, Gemcorp Recycling, Mamata Machinery, and more.
