Pack.Nxt to forefront sustainability and recycling

On 17 December 2024, the second edition of Pack.Nxt will take place at The Lalit in Mumbai. This year the theme is Connecting Brands, Co-Creating the Future of Packaging. Pack.Nxt expects roughly 350 delegates with over 60 speakers.

The conference will begin with addresses by Chakravarthi AVPS, Dr NC Saha, and Dr Vivek Saxena.

This will be followed by a panel discussion on intentional packaging and designing for sustainability. Moderated by Ramu Ramanathan, editor of PrintWeek and WhatPackaging?, the panel will include Sanjay Ghoshal of Diageo, Amit Kale of Reliance Retail, Riddhi Patel of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Abhishek Arora of LT Foods, and Dr Geeta Mahajan Chaudhari of Kenvue.

The conference will split into two rooms after this.

Room One will have panel discussions relating to sustainability. Its first panel will be about the next normal in sustainable packaging. The panellists include: Ankit Bilaye of Pernod Ricard India, Anurag Mishra of Shree Renuka Sugars (Wilmar subsidiary), Param Gandhi of Fibmold, Saurabh Goenka of the Pashupati Group, Sanjeet Kumar Jha of Resurgent India, and Krunal Goda of Anant Tattva, who will be moderating the discussion.

The second discussion will revolve around smart labels, security labels and digital innovations for intelligent packaging. Moderated by Ashish Rathi of KPMG India, the panel will include Yachneet Pushkarna of Haribol Foods, Seera Dileep Raju of Merck Sharp & Dohme, Shriniwas Singh of Themis Medicare, Ishwariya Subramanian of ITC, and Ashish Anand of LinkSmart.

The third discussion will revolve around the raw material sourcing for sustainable packaging design. Moderated by Rajesh Kumar Gera of Reliance Industries’ PET division, the panellists will include Omprakash Sadhwani former joint commissioner and drugs controller for Maharashtra, Food and Drug Administration; Satyendra Kumar Garg of Candor Foods; Kaustubh Kulkarni of Wockhardt; Vaibhav Kulkarni of Marico India, and Sri Krishnan J of Flipkart and Myntra.

In the meantime in Room Two, the proceedings will be around packaging recycling.

The first panel discussion in this room will be moderated by Bhavika Shah of Beyondesign, talking about packaging design and functionality. The panellists will be Siddharth Banerjee of Godrej Consumer Products, Samir Udhane of Kimberly Clark, Manjunath Nadella of Strides Pharma, Soumyanath Mishra of Mankind Pharma, Akshat Jain of Veganday, and Pradip Som of Aculife Healthcare.

The second session, on materials and material sourcing, will be moderated by Dr NC Saha. It will feature TK Bandopadhyay of ICPE, Vaibhav Dugar of Vaarya Foods, Amol Saraf of Virinica Foods, Sagar Shah of Unichem Laboratories, and Ganesh Narayanswami of John Distilleries.

The third discussion will be moderated by Ritesh Mathur of F2F Food and Beverage Consultants. Vikas Khare of JB Pharma, Meeta Gawdi of Candor Foods, Vishal Poojara of Mondelez International, Samson Ponselvan JK of Viyash Life Sciences, Aditi Agrawal of Go Rewise, and Koel Bhandra of L’Oreal will get together to discuss value realisation through circularity in the context of revenue and cost.

The fourth and final panel discussion in Room Two will be moderated by Surabhi Soral of Food Safety Works. Dr Ankur Chaturvedi of Emami, Tusar Ranjan Pattnaik of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Amit Pathak of Inventia, Rohit Shetty of Burger King India, Sitanshu Bag of Emami Agrotech, and Vijay Rohit of Bajaj Consumer will discuss optimal extended producer responsibility.
