As the packaging industry is responding to the ban on single-use plastic bags, Packman Packaging has come up with a substitute - biodegradable bags made of corn. The corn itself grows in the soil and hence, these bags can be decomposed easily. The resin, known as polylactic acid (PLA), will be formed into containers and packaging for food and consumer goods.

Most bags that are manufactured from plastic are hazardous like polylactic acid blends. Bio-based polymers will contaminate the recycling of other, more common polymers. 

The Noida-based packaging company’s biodegradable bags are known for their long shelf-life and compatibility with FDA and EC Food contact regulations.
