Dhananjay Jadhav said that the response at the exhibition has been very good. “A lot of visitors are from end consumer side and OEMs. We have displayed solutions from the Baumer automation team, and also HHS system for the packaging industry,” he added.

HHS is a well-known brand in the packaging industry for folding cartons. The market share for Baumer in the folding carton segment is more than 80%. Jadhav said, “We also have a good market share in the corrugation industry, even though we are a late entrant in the end of line packaging solutions, we still hold a good amount of share.”

Baumer has experience in the electric heads with adhesive dispensing for cold form, now the company has come up with electric heads for hot form. “The USP of this is that wearable gaskets are not present, and air is not required at all. The customers demand for usage of air to be reduced,” explained Jadhav. These heads have been made to use up to one billion cycles.

“We have a two-layer technology in the electric head. Two separate compartments are provided, top one for pre-melting, and the bottom one for heating, to avoid the burning of the glue,” Jadhav continued. Main application areas include, end of packaging lines for pharma, FMCG, and food and beverages.

Talking about the PackMach Asia Expo 2023, he said, “Customers are enjoying the show and looking to understand the challenges. They want to opt for sustainable solutions and technologies.”
