Automation plays a crucial role in packaging across various industries. It offers numerous benefits in terms of efficiency, accuracy, speed, and cost-effectiveness. However, the Indian industry lacks awareness in terms of its potential and is not feasible in the fragmented market, especially in the print and packaging sector.
On this, Nirav Doshi, managing director of Nido Group, said that to address this issue the company has launched its Astro ecosystem. "The Astro ecosystem is a game-changer for businesses of all sizes including SMEs and MSMEs.”
This solution will redefine warehouse automation across diverse industries including direct-to-consumer, third-party logistics, eCommerce and the last-mile delivery industries. Also, the Group has filed a patent for this innovative homegrown technology.
Commenting on growth plans, Doshi said, “While the majority of Nido Group’s revenues come from tier-one markets, we are now witnessing some strong demand from warehouses based in smaller towns of the country. By expanding our reach to markets such as Amritsar, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Agra, Dibrugarh, and Tiruchi, we are confident to cross our revenue targets of over 700 crores shortly.”
“The integration of automated guided vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and robotic pickers has enhanced efficiency, reduced labour costs, and enabled 24/7 operations, thereby boosting productivity,” added Doshi.
Also, warehouse management systems (WMS) and the Internet of Things (IoT) are the drivers in effective inventory management. These bring in real-time visibility, performance metrics, predictive analytics, and route optimisation.
Doshi said, “The logistics industry will witness a surge in tier-two and -three cities, and beyond due to eCommerce's emergence and the internet's accessibility in rural markets. The focus is to target these hyper-local markets and give them access to a seamless warehouse management ecosystem to propel their business.”
Nido Group largely operates in three verticals including machinery, automation, and robotics and has amassed a sizable customer base of over 2,500 customers across the country. It caters for the industry as a comprehensive manufacturer, system integrator, and solutions provider.
