Speaking to PrintWeek/WhatPackaging, Trilok Mittal, who his wife, Minakshi, accompanied, said his company will target applications such as shrink sleeves, pouches, and self-adhesive labels and VDP with the new HP Indigo kit. “We also hope to increase our product range,” Mittal said.

Established in 2000, Wonderpac began by producing hologram labels. In 2003, it invested in a Mark Andy flexo press. It brought in another Mark Andy in 2010. The company replaced the first Mark Andy press with a Mark Andy M5 flexo press in 2012. In 2019, the company installed a Jetsci Colornovo full-colour UV inkjet label production press.

“We have been using Jetsci’s inkjet UV technology, but there are products which cannot be produced on UV inkjet technology, so we decided to bring in toner technology. The advantage is that we will now be able to produce shrink sleeves, pouches, and mono cartons,” said Mittal.

Wonderpac caters to clients in the cosmetic, pharma, FMCG, pesticides, and airlines industries, among others, both premium and B-grade. “Close to 50% of our clients’ demand are short runs ranging from 300 to 3,000 labels. These are the kind of short-run jobs, which are not feasible in flexo,” Mittal said.

At present, our flexo vs digital job ratio is 65:35, said Mittal, adding, “We are of the opinion that this will reverse, as we go forward.”
