JPFL Films Private Limited, a subsidiary of Jindal Poly Films Limited, has become the first company in India to manufacture BOPA Nylon films. The company has invested Rs 120-crore in its Nasik for the initiative.
By introducing BOPA Nylon films, the company aims to integrate advanced technology into its manufacturing processes, enhance product quality, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
Dr Mahesh N Gopalasamudram, deputy CEO, JPFL Films, highlighted, “With the introduction of BOPA Nylon Films, JPFL Films has pioneered this innovation in the Indian market. This product offers superior mechanical properties and an effective aroma barrier, making it a valuable solution for the pharmaceutical, medical, FMCG, and food industries. Until recently, India relied entirely on imports for these films.”
A key feature of this advanced product is its isotropicity, meaning it maintains uniform characteristics in all directions. Produced using exclusive Japanese double bubble film technology, the film ensures dimensional stability, puncture resistance, and consistent quality across its length and width. It also supports high-speed printing and serves as a strong barrier against gases and aromas.
Dr Gopalasamudram further noted, “Our group company, Jindal Nylon Films in Italy, also manufactures BOPA films. This expertise enables us to better serve Indian customers by bringing global innovations to the local market.”
