James Purnell assumes CEO role at Flint Global, outlines vision for the future

Purnell has assumed the firm's executive leadership from managing partners Simon Fraser and Ed Richards. Purnel will lead the next phase of Flint’s successful story.

Founding partners and board members Fraser and Richards will continue to support and engage with the firm as Purnell takes on his new role at a crucial time for Flint. The company is focused on developing its services and expanding its international presence across Europe and Asia-Pacific.

In his statement about his new role, Purnell expressed his excitement, stating, “I'm thrilled to be joining Flint today. Governments are eager to hear from businesses now, and I'm eager to meet all our clients to explore how we can take advantage of that opportunity." Purnell also mentioned that he looks forward to continuing Flint's legacy with the additional insight and strengths he can bring to the team.

Founding partner Fraser emphasised this is an exciting and important moment for the company. “Ed and I will help manage this transition smoothly to ensure James, our clients, and Flint staff are supported through the change. Ed and I will continue as members of the Flint Board and remain active in the company in areas such as strategic planning, major client work, business development and senior recruitment.”

James Purnell's arrival at Flint Global marks the next step in his remarkable career, which includes roles as a political adviser, cabinet minister, senior BBC executive, and university vice-chancellor.
