ITC's Sanjiv Puri is president of CII

Sanjiv Puri, the chairman of ITC has been elected the president of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for 2024-25. He succeeds TVS Supply Chain Solutions chairman R Dinesh. Meanwhile, Rajiv Memani becomes president-designate, and R Mukundan assumes vice presidency.

Sanjiv Puri, chairman and managing director of consumer goods major ITC, has taken over as president of CII for the 2024-25 period, the industry body said in a statement.

Other than ITC, Puri is the chairman of ITC Infotech India and its subsidiaries in the UK and the US. A diversified conglomerate, ITC's businesses include fast-moving consumer goods, hotels, packaging, and information technology.

Meanwhile, Rajiv Memani takes over as president-designate of CII for 2024-25. He is chairman of the India region of EY (Ernst & Young), a leading global professional services organisation. He is also a member of EY's global management body as the Chair of its Global Emerging Markets Committee.

Established in 1895, the Confederation of Indian Industry is one of India’s oldest business lobby groups, representing the interests of various industries and advocating for policies conducive to economic growth. Headquartered in New Delhi, the CII plays a crucial role in engaging with the government and stakeholders to shape India’s business landscape.
