Many paper industry stalwarts opine improving electrical efficiency in India is a multifaceted approach. To achieve this, mills must conduct energy audits to identify the sources with high energy consumption. Also, it is crucial to invest in the right technology – high-efficiency motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and LED lighting.
Following sustainability, automation is the trend shaping the industries. In the pulp and paper industry, implementing automated systems to control pulp processing, paper making and packaging will allow for real-time data collection and optimise production.
An IPPTA spokesperson said, "The focus of the industry is to reduce various sources of polluting factors and save mother nature for the next generation." The industry should practise green manufacturing; must investigate the value of specific technology, adopt new technologies, and improve existing operations.
The paper seminar will see discussions over statutory requirements, product requirements and paper specifications by research scholars and industry experts. In this direction, IPPTA will organise a panel discussion.
