IPMMI upbeat about PackMach Asia Expo

Organisers of the PackMach Asia Expo, Indian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (IPMMI) are confident the show becomes a unified platform for India's packaging community to connect, collaborate, and flourish across all packaging verticals, be it plastics, paper, glass, bottles, films, trays, or pods), are trying to ensure packaging becomes more mainstream.

The PackMach Asia Expo which is being held at Pragati Maidan in Delhi and runs from 4-6 October 2023 opened today.

The expo is occupying three halls and more than 200 exhibitors encompassing all types of packaging features.

Anthony D’souza, the president of Indian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (IPMMI) told WhatPackaging? magazine that the expo aimed to make life easier for exhibitors and visitors by showcasing the entire industry in one place: "What we’re trying to build here is a platform where everyone can get some benefit and success out of it."

D'souza added, "In today's dynamic business landscape, the packaging industry plays a vital role in meeting diverse needs across various sectors. Presenting the PackMach Asia Expo (PMAE), a premier comprehensive trade fair and conference that serves as a unified platform for India's packaging and processing communities to connect, collaborate, and flourish across all industries from food, FMCG, pharma, cosmetics, beverages and more."

Show features include hubs for different panel discussions, training zones, and educational sessions.

There will also be two knowledge sessions: the first on day one looking at packaging machines and systems from the eyes of FMCG, trends and developments in rigind and semi rigid box packaging, and consumer behaviour. While on day two the topics are regulatory framewrok and standardisation on packaging and printing inks in India, pharma and cosmetics, and flexible packaging.

The show’s biggest exhibitors are Mespack India, IMA - PG, Pidilite Industries, ITC Limited, Nordson India, and Stelda Packaging.

Other major exhibitors include Skanem India, Maharshi Group, Hilda Automation, and Mamata Machinery.

A raft of products are being displayed at the show, including Clearpack, Maharshi, Hilda Automation and more who are showing a live demo.

The expo is co-located with the World Tea & Coffee Expo 2023 and drink technology India.
