Innovative solutions to take centre stage at packaging summit

The 7th Annual Packaging Quality and Innovations India Summit will take place on 26 and 27 March 2025 at the Radisson Blu Mumbai International Airport. The summit will feature renowned thought leaders and experts who will share their insights on emerging trends and innovations shaping the future of packaging.

Keynote speakers include N C Saha, chairman of the Bureau of Indian Standards, who will open discussions on the impact of global regulations on the Indian packaging sector. Topics will cover adapting to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) mandates, navigating global sustainable packaging standards, and India’s readiness for compliance with cross-border packaging laws. Saha will also explore how innovation can thrive amidst rising global packaging regulations.

The summit will also address consumer-driven packaging evolution, with Sridhar J from Plum Goodness highlighting how FMCG brands are increasingly prioritising sustainability in packaging. He will discuss materials and designs that protect products while appealing to eco-conscious consumers. Another session will focus on fibre-based packaging, where experts will delve into the circular economy and how multi-layer films and recyclable systems can reduce environmental impact.

A panel discussion will explore the practical challenges of sustainable packaging, examining compliance costs, incentives, and policy frameworks. Panellists, including Anurag Mishra from Shree Renuka Sugars and Swarn Singh Grover from Kellanova, will discuss sustainable alternatives, collaborative efforts to make sustainability profitable, and how policy frameworks can balance compliance and incentives.

In addition, experts will address the growing importance of smart packaging technologies, including traceability and IoT integration. A session on pharmaceutical packaging will examine leak-free solutions, temperature and stability testing, and ensuring product integrity.

The event also includes discussions on the use of anti-counterfeiting technologies in packaging and labelling, as well as the role of automation and AI in optimising packaging line performance.

With the Indian packaging market projected to reach USD 204.81-billion by 2025, this summit provides an essential platform for professionals to engage in dialogue, exchange ideas, and explore practical solutions for the challenges facing the industry.
