Indian packaging companies win at Asian Packaging Excellence Awards

Creative Graphics Solutions, Letragraphix, Kwality Offset, Mudrika Labels, Multiflex Polybags, RKN Flexibles, SB Packagings won awards at the Asian Packaging Excellence Awards which were hosted in Bangkok.

SB-Constantia won the gold award for Welga’s Frozen Veg Chaap which was produced in six-colour for the category gravure film surface print. The group also won one more gold award for their nine-colour work with Whisper Skin Love XL 15 which was produced on a Windmöller & Hölscher with pre-press from Numex Blocks and DIC inks.

Meanwhile SB-Constantia won one award and Creative Graphics Solution bagged two awards for their work in wide web flexibles film.

Chennai-based Multiflex Polybags won the gold award for metallized film and aluminium foil. The seven-colour job was Nutriyes Multigrain Cream Wafers and was produced on the Soma Optima 820 with inks from Siegwerk. It was reverse printed on PET / laminated to metallised polyester and LDPE natural. The group also won a gold award for the eight-colour Comfy Snug Fit. The plates for both award winning jobs are from Veepee Graphic Solutions.

Meanwhile Multiflex Polybags bagged awards for mid-web flexibles film category.

Letragraphix won a gold award for their self promotion work with Letra Samples which was produced on a Gallus Labelfire. The jury loved the eight digital head and silver holographic foil and one screen embossed plus gloss UV. Letra also won awards for their hybrid work in the category digital packaging special process. Letra also won an award for their work in label printing in the flexo category. The Ahmedabad-based label specialist also won an award for label combination printing.

Letra swept the Best in Show award with the Letra Sample which was produced on their Gallus Labelfire that deployed inks from Heidelberg Saphira / Siegwerk and substrate from Avery Dennison. With plates from Pin Mark Block. The USP of the job was eight digital head and silver holographic foil and one screen embossed and gloss UV.

Kwality Offset won an award for combination printing; and Mudrika Labels won an award for the narrow web flexibles paper category. Mudrika also won a gold award for a seven-colour Soft and Smooth job which was produced on a Gallus with pre-press from Numex and produced on SMI coated paper. Also Mudrika bagged an award for narrow web flexibles paper.

The Asian Packaging Excellence Awards which were created back in 2001 to recognise excellence in packaging production across Asia. The Awards dinner presentation was held in Bangkok during the PackPrint International and Corrutec Asia exhibitions at the BITEC Exhibition Centre on 21 September 2023.
