Rajeev Jagga of Ample discussed the company's current focus and future plans. Corrugation makes up a significant portion of Ample's portfolio, with approximately 40% of the company’s machinery dedicated to this segment. Jagga acknowledged the company’s focus on corrugation but also pointed out a decline in the IndiaCorr exhibition.

"Corrugation is a big focus for us," he said. "However, this particular exhibition, which is mainly centred around corrugation, has seen less engagement over time. Based on the response this year, we may not participate next year."

Jagga noted that while traditional brown cartons remain prevalent for outer packaging, there is a shift toward multicolour printing in inner packaging. Ample has adapted to this trend, offering offset carton solutions where printed sheets are combined with kraft paper for corrugated cartons.

"The combination of kraft paper and printed sheets for three-ply cartons is increasing. This has become a significant part of our corrugation portfolio," Jagga said.

Ample continues to operate across multiple packaging streams, including corrugated, mono-carton, and rigid boxes. The company is focused on meeting overall business targets rather than prioritising any specific product segment.

"As customer demands change, we have a full range of solutions," Jagga said. "It doesn’t matter whether the turnover comes from corrugated boxes, mono-cartons, or rigid boxes, as long as our overall targets are being met."

According to Jagga, the packaging industry in India has experienced growth over the past four to five years, particularly following the COVID-19 pandemic. He expects this trend to continue for at least another two to three years. Ample achieved a turnover of approximately 40 crores last year and expects to reach 50 crores in the current year.

Ample has a broad customer base across India, with a strong presence in the northern and western regions. "We have installations pan-India, although more concentrated in the north and west," Jagga said.
