IFCA Star Awards on 27 October

The Indian Flexible Packaging and Folding Cartons Manufacturers Association (IFCA) is hosting its annual Star Awards event on Friday, 27 October 2023 at the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), BKC, Mumbai from 3.30 pm onwards.

As per the IFCA president, Chandrasekhar Rajagopalan.“The IFCA Star Awards are a celebration for the innovation and continuous improvement spirit of the converting industry in India." He added, "Year-on-year we are amazed by the quality of entries, the competitiveness and the stretch the industry takes to delight customers.”

“We are delighted to announce the IFCA Star Awards 2023. This year we have nine categories for applications and look forward to a gala event,” said Chandrasekhar Rajagopalan, president, IFCA.

The award categories for Star Awards 2023 contain flexible and carton packaging. Both types assess the samples on the basis of innovation, creativity, new applications and new forms. The latter further extends the categories to structural innovation and graphic design. The Awards also include categories for achievements in recycling and supporting circular economy; branding categories; innovations and for students.

The flexible plastic packaging market is currently evaluated at USD 108.3 billion in 2023, and is expected to surge at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.7% to USD 171.6 billion revenue, says a Future Market Insights report.

Prior to the Awards ceremony, IFCA will host a knowledge session on the theme ‘Your customer, what does he or she mean to you’. There will be presentations by Uflex, Brilliant Polymers, Miraclon, Edelman, 3D Packaging, Print Dynamics, Indo Strait Huber Group, Fuji Sericol, and Morchem.

Chandrasekhar Rajagopalan said, "Registration is open and packaging professionals can attend the event on 27 October."

IFCA Star Awards provides a platform to showcase the innovation and creativity skills of the industry players. IFCA claims that the Star Awards 2022 was a grand success and it received lots of entries in various categories - The enthusiasm shown in participation was tremendous.

While UFlex and ITC bagged 13 and 11 IFCA Star awards respectively, Constantia and GLS won seven and Huhtamaki India bagged five awards.
