The Indian Flexible Packaging and Folding Cartons Manufacturers Association (IFCA) held its annual Star Awards event on Thursday, 12 December 2024.
Chandrasekhar Rajagopalan, the president of IFCA, said, “IFCA Star Awards 2024 is a celebration of the innovative ability of the Indian packaging companies. We celebrate the different ideas, approaches, use of newer materials, combination of different print technologies, commitment to sustainability and the spirit to challenge ourselves to offer competitive solutions to the demands of our customers. Year after year we have been seeing interesting innovations.”
For an achievement in sustainability, 3D Technopack was recognised for its PaperX laminate for Kheoni. This product had a 32% reduction in meeting customer sustainability goals without compromising barrier goals.
Indo Straits’ Perfac BC-10 was recognised by IFCA for the structural innovation in a graphic design carton — the Lola Halloween pack. This sample had a glow-in-the-dark print effect, it was offset printed and featured screen printing on spot areas. It also had spot gloss UV over a matte background.
Packult Studio’s wine plum cake premium bottle was awarded for its innovation.
Parksons Packaging took home two accolades that evening. One for structural innovation and graphic design cartons for its Cadbury Studio rigid pack. The other award was given for the sustainability factor in its Aloha Purified Hawaii Water because it featured a gable top carton, as opposed to the other entrants in the category, which were plastic bottles.
The night’s big winner was TCPL Packaging. The company took home three awards. Its packaging for Sunfeast’s Dark Fantasy Dessert was awarded for branding. Its innovation in cartons was recognised for its Bella Vita packaging, which was a rigid box with art paper, finished with matt lamination and gold foil stamping. The EVA foam inside held and protected the product. The third award was given for its sustainable packaging for the Glow and Lovely serum.
The IFCA Star Awards 2024 highlighted the innovation in India’s packaging industry, featuring developments in design, sustainability and technology.
