Day two of India Lab Expo spotlights sustainability
Starting on 15 April, 2024 the three day show has been organised by Indian Analytical Instruments Association in collaboration with Messe Muenchen India at the Bombay Exhibition Center. Here are updates of Day two.

India Lab Expo 2024 is an international trade fair for laboratory technology, analysis, biotechnology and diagnostics. The trade show began on 15 April with more than 200 exhibitors and 3,000 products on display. 800 buyers and visitors were expected to attend the event. Day two had four sessions lined up.
The first was a panel discussion that revolved around ‘navigating regulatory compliance and industry standards in food analysis.’ The discussion was moderated by Kavita Pandey, head of the biotechnology department at Khalsa College. The panellists were Divya Pawana, food analyst, ITCFSAN-FSSAI; Santosh Jathar, municipal analyst at Municipal Laboratory, BMC; Sandhya Srivastava, director of Bhavans Research Centre, Mumbai; Sheetal Patil, operations manager, Eureka Analytical Services; and Megha Gampa, product manager, Sartorius.
This was followed by a panel discussion on ‘authenticity and sustainability in food analysis: promoting transparency and ethical practices’ by industry stalwarts. The discussion was moderated by Priti Amritkar, director of Envicore Labs. The panel had experts like Ritesh Mathur, vice president of the Association of Food Scientists & Technologists (ASFT) of India, Mumbai Chapter; Sheetal Gupta; joint director of the National Food Laboratory at FSSAI; Shubhadeep Mukharjee, head of laboratory at Dr. Amin Controllers and Purnima Parkhi, lead application and support HEL Group.
The third session was an interactive one with more than 100 audience members. It was a talk delivered by Venkat Naidu on how to leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning for compliance enhancement in the pharmaceutical industry.
The presentation was followed by a panel discussion revolving around the same topic, moderated by Rajiv Desai, senior technical advisor at the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance.
The panellists had a combined experience of 100 years in the pharmaceutical industry. The panellists included Abhijit Kulkarni, vice president at Lupin; AV Jayakumar, executive vice president of corporate quality at Ajanta Pharma; Milind Gujar, chief quality officer at RPG Life Sciences; Rupesh Kelaskar, associate vice president at FDC, and Souvik Nandi, corporate head of quality assurance at Themis Medicare.
Day three is expected to revolve around regulatory compliance in pharmaceutical technical operations.
