Jagdeep Hira, the business head in India for Pakka, said, "This international expansion represents a proud moment for India, as we take our compostable food packaging solutions from Ayodhya to the global stage. There is a huge demand for eco-friendly food packaging options in the US, UAE, Canada and other countries." Hira added, "This expansion will help us meet the needs of environmentally conscious consumers. Our research indicates that the HoReCa sector and retail establishments across the globe are willing to accept innovative, sustainable packaging solutions that don't compromise on quality or functionality. Chuk's products are uniquely positioned to meet this demand."
Meanwhile, Pakka is also strengthening its operations in Guatemala, with a USD 250 million food packaging solutions plant, supporting local economies and indigenous traditions. This initiative aligns with the company's broader vision of responsible global growth, exemplified by its CSR programs around its headquarters in Ayodhya.
From its beginning in Ayodhya in 2017, Chuk has emerged as a pioneer brand in offering compostable packaging solutions in the country. Now the brand has transformed agricultural residue into a solution to reduce the use of single-use tableware made of non-renewable materials. Chuk uses sugarcane residue, also known as bagasse, in high-quality compostable tableware and food delivery products.
Today, it is a reputed name in the country with leading food brands and Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs) like Haldirams, Taco Bell, Chai Point, and more choosing Chuk's eco-friendly packaging solutions for their daily operations.
Following its success in the Indian market where the overall biodegradable tableware market is projected to grow at 6% CAGR from 2024 to 2030, Chuk has marked its foray into the seven international markets with the vision to replicate its regenerative model across the world.
As per a press statement issued by the group, "Chuk is enhancing its global reach with a US-focused website." The chukusa.com has been designed for American consumers.
