Bajaj Consumer Care to acquire Vishal Personal Care

This is Bajaj Consumer Care's first acquisition to date. It aligns with their strategy to expand in India’s growing natural and Ayurvedic personal care segment.

Bajaj Consumer Care brand has announced a 100% stake acquisition in Hyderabad-based FMCG company, Vishal Personal Care. The acquisition will include Vishal Personal Care's brand Banjara’s, from existing shareholders such as private equity firm Peepul Capital. The board has approved the Rs 120-crore acquisition through a share purchase agreement, to be executed in two tranches—an initial 49% stake and the remaining 51% in the second phase.

With this acquisition, Bajaj Consumer Care hopes to expand its distribution network in South India and introduce Vishal Personal Care brand, Banjara's products in its stronghold Hindi-speaking markets. Banjara's is known for its natural, and effective hair and skin care solutions. 

Bajaj Consumer Care, part of the USD 2.5-billion Bajaj Group, is a leading FMCG player specialising in personal care products. Vishal Personal Care, with a retail network spanning 70,000 outlets across South India, has reported a four-year revenue CAGR of 14%, with annual revenues exceeding Rs 50-crore. The company operates debt-free with strong cash flows.
