Avery Dennison opens RFID site in India
The new Pune facility boosts local RFID production, enabling faster response to market needs and supporting Make in India with region-specific technology.

Avery Dennison Corporation has launched its first India-based RFID inlay and label production facility in Pune, marking a milestone in its regional expansion and support for the Indian government’s Make in India initiative.
The site, officially opened on 23 April 2025, is India's first ARC-certified RFID manufacturing facility. It positions the company to better serve the fast-growing South Asian market with improved supply chain responsiveness and reduced lead times.
“With the opening of our RFID inlay and label manufacturing facility in Pune, Avery Dennison is taking a significant step toward strengthening its presence in India,” said Saurabh Agarwal, vice president and general manager, South Asia, Avery Dennison. “Local production will help us respond more efficiently to market needs, reduce lead times and better support our customers across industries.”
As part of its commitment to local innovation, Avery Dennison also unveiled AD Cobra, an RFID inlay designed specifically for the Indian market. The inlay addresses environmental and operational challenges unique to the region, enhancing product integration and performance.
