The joint venture aims to prioritise segregating, extracting, and recycling resources from diverse waste streams

Re Sustainability and Recycling Private Limited (ReSRL), an environmental management leader, and Aarti Circularity Limited (ACL), a subsidiary of Aarti Industries Limited (AIL), have formed a joint venture (JV) to establish India’s first large-scale Plastic Materials Recycling Facilities (PMRFs). ReSRL holds a 51% stake in the joint venture while ACL holds 49% stake in the joint venture.

The joint venture aims to prioritise segregating, extracting, and recycling resources from diverse waste streams to produce Advanced Circular Materials (ACM) for use as raw materials, fuels, or polymer feedstock. The ₹100 crore partnership aims to revolutionise plastic waste recovery and advance sustainable resource management nationwide.

It aims to achieve ₹5,000 crore turnover within five years, capitalising on rising global demand for recycled polymers. Each facility will process 200 tonnes of municipal waste daily to extract 100 tonnes of ACM, supporting industries mandated to use recycled materials.

Masood Mallick, managing director & CEO, Re Sustainability, said, “This collaboration merges our waste management expertise with Aarti Industries’ 40-year legacy in specialty chemicals. By deploying cutting-edge technologies, we aim to minimise environmental impact while fostering economic growth through circularity.”

The first facility in Hyderabad, Telangana, will commence operations within 15-18 months, with plans to expand to Maharashtra and Gujarat. By 2030, it targets a minimum resource recovery capacity of 500 tonnes per day, supported by ReSL’s existing annual processing of 9-million tonnes of waste across India.

Mirik Gogri, director, Aarti Circularity Limited, added, “This JV is a pathbreaking step to address global environmental challenges. Our mission aligns with India’s circular economy goals—reducing virgin resource reliance and mitigating waste generation.”

Re Sustainability Limited is Asia’s largest circular economy company while Aarti Industries Limited deals with specialty chemicals and has subsidiaries like ACL to advance sustainable industrial solutions.
