The Asia Coat + Ink show 2024 is a premier exhibition in the printing ink and coating industry. It serves as a platform for industry professionals to explore innovations, network, and exchange ideas.

Shekhar Iyer, chairman of the Asia Coat + Ink Show 2024 exhibition organising committee said, "Given India’s growing print and packaging market, this event is crucial for staying updated.

The theme of the show is Inkredible Innovations Await. Iyer said, "Visitors can expect to see cutting-edge technologies, sustainable solutions, and digital advancements. Also eco-friendly printing inks and coatings will indeed be highlighted."

Iyer said, the ink and coating industry is in an exciting phase. He added, "Regulatory and compliance will be stringent in the coming days. Organisations are trying to build confidence among converters and brand owners" Iyer alluded to DIC's new plant which is toluene-free, thereby complying with IS 15495 for food packaging. He mentioned, other ink majors are following the norms.

Here, Iyer added that AIPIMA works closely with regulatory bodies like BIS and FSSAI on food packaging norms. He said, "We are arranging various seminars to educate people about safety and compliance."

Iyer spoke about the importance of sustainability. He said, "Sustainability  can be achieved by easy recycling, mono packaging, and changing plastic to paper. For example, PET/Poly structure can be converted to BOPP/BOPP or PE/PE. Similarly, PE coating can be removed in paper cups and sustainable coating can be applied.

He highlighted the importance of the ink conference on a day prior to the trade exhibition on 20 November at the The Westin Mumbai Garden City in Goregaon.

Iyer signed off by saying, "It is an opportunity for every member of the industry to ensure that the Asia Coat + Ink Show 2024 becomes a memorable and enriching experience for all participants."
