Vandana Tandan
Head of markets, India and Bangladesh, SIG Combibloc

Head of India and Bangladesh market at SIG Combibloc. Tandan has more than 25 years of experience in the field. And she needs it. SIG, a leading systems and solutions provider for aseptic carton packaging, laid the foundation of its 10th global aseptic carton plant in Ahmedabad. SIG has planned to invest more than USD 100-million in the facility. The aim is to reach a production capacity of up to four billion packs per annum. Subsequent investments would be made in later phases to increase capacity up to 10 billion packs per annum. Tandan, who writes a column for WhatPackaging? magazine highlighted the group's platinum sustainability status in EcoVadis rating.

 

Vedant Gupta
Director, RM Converter

The Telangana-based converter with 25 years of experience is BRCGS-certified. The specialist in rotogravure and lamination is continually updating and adapting to align with the evolving needs and expectations of clients. Vedant Gupta told WhatPackaging? magazine: “Our USP in gravure cylinder procurement lies in our efficient processes and strong industry relationships. We have reduced waiting times and costs through streamlined operations, ensuring faster delivery and cost savings for our clients.” This ensures short-run conversion jobs in gravure.

 

Vijay Shah
Director, PGP Glass

Blackstone acquired Piramal Glass four years ago for USD one billion. This was the largest-ever transaction for a packaging company in India. The company's new name was PGP Glass. Today, PGP Glass has a manufacturing footprint in the USA, India, and Sri Lanka and an impressive number of furnaces and production lines. WhatPackaging? spent time with the PGP team at two recent shows: CPHI India and Cosmoprof India and saw the strides in pharmaceutical and cosmetic solutions.

 

Vijay Vaidya, Vishal Patel
President, director, Vishal Containers

First things first. Ahmedabad-based packaging solutions provider Vishal Containers made an impressive Interpack debut in 2023. The group is a company with 30+ years of experience whose main objective is to provide its customers with total packaging solutions under one roof. Its USP is confectionery packaging material, among many others. Pre-Covid, the group, which boasts of a raft of gravure lines, invested in flexographic technology. Two focus areas at Vishal are R&D for sustainable/recyclable flexible packaging material development and investment in EB technology and barrier-coating technologies.

 

Vinay Nalawade, Harshal Parakh
Director, Executive director, Parakh Agro

Parakh Agro's recent investments have proved it is one of the best in the Western region. Under the tech mentorship of Vinay Nalawade, the company has created a fab plant. Meanwhile, Parakh drives the Samrat brand and has led innovations like India’s first in-house Kodak plate-making system and sustainable ink usage. A passionate cook and leader, Harshal blends business with a consumer-centric approach to elevate the company's food products. In 2003, Parakh set up a plant in Kurkumbh (near Pune), to cater to their own Parakh group products (edible oil and FMCG products). Today, the factory has a significant presence overseas savouring the special jobs on both the flexo and roto process.
