What does Tetra Pak E3/Speed Hyper do?
The Tetra Pak E3/Speed hyper-filling machine features eBeam sterilisation, with the capacity of producing 40,000 packages per hour and offers a reduction in customer operational costs while minimising environmental impact.
This machine can produce roughly 1.6 times the number of packs compared to other high-speed lines in the aseptic industry while using similar space or footprint on the factory floor. In addition to a positive impact on operational costs, it also consumes 30% less power and up to 45% less water compared to the Tetra Pak A3 speed filling machine.
The machine also supports under-filling for all package volumes, allowing manufacturers to adjust product fill levels in response to rising costs in the value chain ensuring affordable options for lower-income consumers.
From a formation standpoint, it is equipped with a jaw system that has additional forming stations (the exact number depends on the package volume in question) and a package extractor. These features enable a controlled transformation of the packaging material (11 packages per second) from a carton tube into individual packages, successful transversal sealing and the safe transport of packages to the final folding unit.
What’s the USP? How does this model stand apart from similar aseptic filling machines in the market? Is it the use of electron beam technology for hyperfilling?
The Tetra Pak E3/Speed Hyper stands out from other aseptic filling machines on the market due to several unique selling points. Its electron beam (eBeam) sterilisation system significantly reduces utility consumption and operational costs, enabling better business returns. Additionally, the machine boasts high capacity and output per square metre, contributing to long-term profitability. These features, combined with the capability to produce 40,000 packs per hour and support under-filling to meet the market needs, make the Tetra Pak E3/Speed Hyper a superior choice in the industry.
Electron beam (eBeam) is a sterilisation technology that replaces the traditional sterilisation method of using hydrogen peroxide with an electron beam. Its efficacy is on par with traditional hydrogen peroxide sterilisation, yet it has the potential to deliver significant environmental benefits and cost savings for food & beverage producers.
When was it launched in India?
The Tetra Pak E3/Speed Hyper platform was launched in India in 2020. It has already been deployed by three leading F&B companies in India, across multiple manufacturing sites.
What factors went behind the launch of Tetra Pak E3/Speed Hyper? Since there was an existing Tetra Pak A3/Speed?
As consumption increases in the food and beverage sector, owing to the growing population and consumers’ demand to opt for hygienic, safe and reliable packaging solutions, our customers are looking for solutions that can meet this demand and help support their growth ambitions.
The existing Tetra Pak A3/Speed is a successful machine in itself, however, the evolving market needs greater efficiency, reduction in operational costs, and enhanced sustainability — which led us to develop the Tetra Pak® E3/Speed Hyper.
Can you shed light on the varied portion package types that Tetra Pak E3/Speed Hyper can offer?
Tetra Pak E3/Speed Hyper now offers 125-ml, 150-ml, 200-ml and 250-ml portion packages and additional formats are in the pipeline.
What is the target market?
The Tetra Pak E3/Speed Hyper is designed for customers who are looking to increase the output of their existing and new plants with a footprint similar to slower speed lines. With the reduction in utilities and chemicals, it is an ideal machine to reduce operational costs and achieve greater plant efficiencies.
How easy is it to implement and use?
Tetra Pak E3/Speed Hyper is an easy-to-install and maintain aseptic packaging filling line, backed by service and technical support from Tetra Pak engineers.
What are its applications?
As a company, we are focussed on the food and beverage industry. Currently, we do not cater to the pharmaceutical industry beyond a few applications such as ORS (Oral Rehydration Salts), for which this machine is perfectly suited.
What’s the tech support that Tetra Pak provides?
Tetra Pak provides comprehensive tech support, including remote support and connected workforce solutions, which enhance production efficiency. Remote support allows us to offer immediate assistance and solutions to customers around the clock, regardless of their location. This minimises the need for an engineer's physical presence and helps maximise production uptime. Our digital and automation support plays a crucial role in reducing unexpected downtime, preventing production and financial losses, and shortening delays in restarting production.
