What is the name of your product?
The USPT-V. It is a scuff tester.
How does it work?
The USPT-V conforms to national and international standards for rub-resistance tests of printed material. A test specimen is securely held down to the base and then an actuator block is wrapped with the same material placed on top of it. The actuator block moves in a to and fro motion in 15° arc.
What are its applications?
It can be used for testing the rub-proofness of the printed materials.
What is the target market?
All kinds of printing and packaging materials users and manufacturers.
Could you share the names of your key customers?
Our customers range from material manufacturers, packaging convertors to packaging end users. We hold the largest market share in this segment.
Any feedback from a customer who has benefitted with the product?
Our customers do appreciate our commitment to help them in improving their quality processes.
What's the USP of the model?
It can do wet and dry rub tests with variable actuator blocks, cycle speeds and settable test cycles.
What sets this product apart from similar options in the market?
Most other products used as scuff testers are basically rotary abrasion testers in the market and are not designed as per the requirements of the test methods standardised by the printing and packaging industry.
The rotary abrasion testers are used for textile, non-woven and other industries to assess the effect of abrasion of the material. Our product is specifically designed to assess the effect of abrasion on the printing done on the materials. Thus, we are closer in estimating the print performance and quality.
When was this product first launched in India?
2012.
How easy is it to install and implement the product?
Our engineers are able to install the machine and train the users within a day.
What manufacturing standards or compliance regulations does your company follow?
Our testing equipment conforms to all national and international standards including ASTM, TAPPI, FECFO, ISO and BIS among others.
What kind of technical support or customer service do you provide?
We work closely with our customers to help them select the correct product to complement and improve their quality analysis and quality control processes.
One guru mantra about testing equipment that you can share?
Quality processes are beyond being merely a watch dog of input and output material. A well-equipped quality process with tools, equipment and know-how goes a long way in optimising profit, enhancing the products and achieving a better value proposition.
