The BC-10 is an oxygen barrier designed for products primarily in the food packaging industry. It is manufactured in Perfac’s factory in Navi Mumbai.
The Perfac BC-10 complies with EU 10/2011 and US FDA 177.300 for direct food contact and is compatible with all plastic films. The coatings are more suitable for multi-layer structures.
Perfac also provides customisable coatings for certain materials. The barrier coatings are also biodegradable but have not yet been certified.
It makes films extremely resistant to spoilage in extreme temperatures and humidity and is compatible with most printing and laminating technologies. The thicker the coating applied, the better, and 1 micron yields optimal results.
The lead time for production and delivery is typically about two weeks and Perfac also provides technical support and troubleshooting during and after application. The company is exploring ways to make its barrier coating even more sustainable.
The product is sold in plastic drums weighing between 30 to 230 kg.
