Exhibitor spotlight at Anuga FoodTec and PackEx India

These exhibitions are for India’s F&B retail, processing and packaging space

The previous edition of Anutec was attended by 22,447 visitors, 500 exhibitors from over 43 countries. The current edition with a 25,502-sqm vast exhibition space will be home to around 700 exhibitors, and expects over 40,000 visitors.

These B2B exhibitions are for India’s F&B retail, processing and packaging space that have been shaping the growth of the industry for the last 17 years.

The show is expected to have exhibitors from six different segments of food and beverage processing; automation and digitalisation; food safety and sustainability; material and packaging technology; intralogistics, handling and storage; and ingredients, additives and materials.

Mamata Machinery

Mamata Machinery is focused to showcase its flexible packaging machines at the Anuga FoodTec and PackEx 2024. The company has been participating in this show since its last four editions.

Apurva Kane, CEO, Mamata Machinery says, “This time we are here to offer our solutions in terms of reducing total cost of ownership, and technology that would help brands to shift from non-recyclable to recyclable packaging.”

Mamata offers horizontal form, fill and seal (HFFS), and vertical form, fill and seal (VFFS) machines, and also secondary packaging.

“The focus will be on HFFS and VFFS wherein, we will showcase our ability to improve efficiency and automation. The machines will also display their ability to seal and handle films. This will allow the brands to use mono material and recyclable materials,” says Kane.

 

                                               Columbia Machine Engineering

Dharmanshu Parmar of Columbia Machine Engineering shares with us, “We will be showcasing our robotic palletiser which are mostly used to stack up different products for after end-of-line applications.”

These palletisers use automated robotic hands to stack up the products as desired.

They are aimed to increase the pace of the workflow in an organisation by providing fast and efficient palletising of products.

The food industry has seen a surge in growth post-Covid, including packaged foods and dairy products.

Parmar says, “This type of automation can reduce human intervention, and human errors with seamless operations.”

The company’s focus will be on conventional palletisers with six different models. It is more suitable for cartons and shrink-wrapped products. The application areas are bottling plants, beer factories, packaged drinking water, and other beverages.

 

Infinity Automated Solutions

The Pune-based company plans to showcase bundling and wrapping machines, automatic pouch baler systems, cartoning machines, case packers, check weighers, and conveying solutions.

Shripad Kurlekar, business development head, Infinity Automated Solutions tells us, “We cater to a lot of different segments in the food industry such as tea, spices, biscuits and more.”

The company will be offering its innovations to handle high-speed applications for secondary and tertiary packaging.

He says, “Infinity packs everything that is on the plate of the consumer, right from breakfast to dinner, including spices, tea and dairy products. We have a coverage of 90% market share in India for spices.”

The company aims to offer customisable automated solutions for the secondary and tertiary packaging, catering to different segments which will help the brand owners to get a smoother workflow of their packets.

 

Mettler Toledo

The company will be showcasing cutting-edge product inspection technologies at the exhibition. Siddharth Kachroo, head of sales - product inspection, Mettler Toledo says the focus will be on productivity enhancement, product quality and safety.

“We aim to connect with food manufacturers to demonstrate how operational excellence can be achieved,” adds Kachroo.

Mettler Toledo will be demonstrating its M series metal detector, X-ray machines, and checkweigher C35. Kachroo is optimistic to see high turnaround, potential and existing customers visiting the stall, and generate good leads.

He says, “Post-Covid, customers are focusing on efficiency, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and digitalisation. These are the hot topics which help in reducing wastage and saving costs.”

 

Syntegon Technology India

Sachin Lingras, the application head at Syntegon's Goa location, highlights how sustainability has always been at the heart of the company's machines. These machines are engineered to protect the environment while processing packaging materials with minimal energy consumption.

Syntegon optimises manufacturing processes to minimise product loss and food waste. Customers anticipate sustainable advancements, particularly in sustainable packaging films, including paper, mono-materials, and bio-based films. The company has established an Application Centre in Goa, where customers and suppliers can collaborate to test various products, materials, compatibility, shelf-life, and more.

"We are working closely with our customers and suppliers on project-based tests, third-party materials, and new products at the centre," says Lingras.
