The N730i label press combines 1200 dpi print quality with Domino’s enhanced i-Tech intelligent technology

Abhay Avadhani (AA): Name and model of the machine?
Ajay Rao Rane (AR):
Domino N730i.

AA: What does it do?
AR:
The Domino N730i is a digital inkjet label press designed for maximum uptime and efficiency while minimising waste throughout the production process. The seven-colour digital press is capable of printing 1200 dpi at 70 m/min including high opacity white of 76%. Achieving 92% of the Pantone colours and available with optional flexo stations for priming, varnishing, and shrink white to further enhance production capabilities.

AA: Explain what it is suitable for?
AR:
The N730i allows for label converters, and brand owners, to produce eye-catching quality labels in an efficient manner with quick turnaround times. With the ability to reliably produce 1200 dpi quality on self-adhesive and shrink sleeve labels, converters can expand their product offerings from digital inkjet beyond what was previously achievable.

This 1200 dpi press uses a combination of the smallest drop sizes of 2.1-pl and nominal drop sizes of 2.8-pl and 3.3-pl, with the Bitstar print head providing consistent ink density across the image. This means sharper edges and smoother gradients for exceptional print quality.

AA: When was it launched?
AR:
September 2020 (at Labelexpo Chicago in September 2022)

AA: What are its applications?
AR:
The N730i is mainly used for self-adhesive labels and flexible packaging applications.

AA: What is the USP of this product?
AR:
The N730i label press combines 1200 dpi print quality with Domino’s enhanced i-Tech intelligent technology features to deliver improved efficiency, use, function, and reliability, leading to increased output and investment return. These include the automated maintenance from i-Tech CleanCap2, consistent print density and registration from the new i-Tech SetAlign, optimum ink jetting reliability from i-Tech ActiFlow2 and exceptional print quality with i-Tech NozzleAdjust.

AA: How convenient is it to use?
AR:
The N730i 1200 dpi digital label press with its new intuitive Domino SunLight Graphical User Interface (GUI) is so easy to use and configure. The N730i uses the industry standard ESKO Digital Front End, JDF/JMF support and is Cloud-ready for the most streamlined workflow.

AA: Assembly line speed?
AR:
The Domino N730i operates at speeds of up to 70 m/min at 1200 dpi.

AA: Any feedback from your customers?
AR:
Our customers have been very impressed with the print quality of the N730i, saying in their opinion it is better than some of the similar inkjet and toner offerings available in the market.

Customers have said that it has provided an opportunity to diversify their offerings as they can now look for finer tone work while the smaller droplet sizes have helped with shrink sleeve applications.

AA: Key customers?
AR:
The N730i is predominantly used by label and flexible packaging converters.
